Terms of use
Last updated: October 21, 2026
These terms cover the ScreenShield browser extension, ScreenShield Pro and this website. By installing or using ScreenShield, you agree to them.
Using ScreenShield
You may install and use ScreenShield on your own devices, for personal or work use. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute the extension, remove its notices, or use it to break the law or anyone else's rights.
What ScreenShield can and can't do
ScreenShield lowers the risk of showing sensitive information when you share your screen, record or take screenshots. It can't guarantee that every piece of sensitive information is found or hidden. Some pages can't be read by extensions at all, such as chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, text drawn on a canvas and text inside images. Always look over your screen before you share anything highly sensitive. You remain responsible for what you share.
Free plan
The free plan costs nothing and has no time limit.
Pro
- Plans. Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the extension and on our pricing section.
- Payment. Payments are handled by ExtensionPay and processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and may include taxes where required.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the ScreenShield popup by choosing Manage subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription, the new price applies from your next renewal after we've told you about it in the extension. Your current period is never affected.
- Lifetime. A lifetime purchase gives you Pro on ScreenShield for as long as we offer and maintain the extension, with no further payments. If we ever stop offering ScreenShield, the version you have keeps working as it is.
- Launch offer. The $29 lifetime launch price is available until November 30, 2026, 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
- Existing subscribers. If you subscribed before version 3.0, you keep your current price for as long as your subscription stays active.
- Free trial. The 7-day trial starts when you confirm it through the link in the email you receive. No card is needed, and when it ends ScreenShield goes back to the free plan unless you choose a plan.
- Refunds. See the refund policy.
Updates
ScreenShield updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. Updates may add, change or remove features. We'll describe significant changes on the What's new page.
Your data
How ScreenShield handles data is described in the privacy policy.
No warranty
ScreenShield is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be error-free or work on every website.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for information exposed while using ScreenShield. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for ScreenShield in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Ending use
You can stop using ScreenShield at any time by removing it from your browser. If you have a subscription, cancel it first so it doesn't renew. We may suspend Pro for accounts involved in fraud or chargeback abuse.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we'll mention it in the extension or on the What's new page before it applies.
